Subject:           Minutes of the February 20th, 2010 Meeting
 
 
I.                   The meeting was call to order by the president George Rivers Psalms 1:17 was read, followed with a prayer.
 
  1. Inspirational Period- George Rivers spoke on glorious days thanking God for his retirement and working a full time Nursing job taking care of his father-in-law.
Edith Rivers thanked God and gave Him praise for all things.
Linda Lyles Thanked God and gave Him praises for everything.
Irene Randolph gave a testimony on her illness and gave God the praise and glory for healing her.
Eva Rivers spoke  kind words and gave much praises to our father.
 
  1. Birthday recognition(January, February, March) were as followed:
Angela Coleman January 4th
Jesse Rivers Sr.   January 7th
Edith Obey         March 14th
Linda Rivers       March 29th
 
 
 
II. The minutes were read by Jesse L. Rivers Jr. and approved as read.
 
Hospitality Report
Mid Atlantic –
Southeastern – Ernestine Barnes was hospitalized at Norfolk General, Cousin Mary doing well during the last visit with her. Joe Rivers sick with colon cancer.
Tidewater – No report
 
 
III.             Old Business
A)    Reports
 
1. Treasurer
 Quarterly from October-January
See attached treasure report. The treasure’s report was submitted by Angela Nelson and was read in her absence by George Rivers.
 
 
The treasure’s report was approved as read.
 
2. Regional Coordinators
    No reports, expect Mid-Atlantic reported 600 raffle tickets for a car drawing to be turned in before the May drawing. The family stands to earn $1500 dollars if all tickets are sold.
 
3. Family Tree: No report, Committee still working on gathering new information.
 
4. Historian – James Robert Rivers name is misspelled in the family history. A motion was made to make the necessary corrections.
 
5. Scholarship – No reports
 
II.                New Business
A. Ocean City MD reunion was discussed. Positive and negative feedback was given. The pros and the cons were discussed. More support, more cooperation and more communication is need among the committee members. The banquet was a disappointment. Hotel staff presented one thing, but gave us different from what was discussed.
 
Meeting was adjourned with prayer and the blessing of the food by Edith Chandler. The next meeting will be held April 17, 2010 at the home of Trent Webb. 800 Hannah Street Norfolk, VA.
